Homage To Digital Privacy

To get an invitation code for accessing Basecamp’s most recent HEY email app, you have to tell them about your current stance on the use of email.

Even though I’m not up to paying $99/year for it yet, I really like the idea and their philosophy. Being the great company that they are, and out of sheer boredom, I still came up with a little poem on a wimp, using William Blake’s The Tyger from 1794 for inspiration.


So There You Go

Don’t even know what my brain was thinking. Google, don’t sue me, please.

Google Google, keep it tight,
Facing lawsuits, you alright;
What innocent’s soul privacy,
Could you sell off willingly?

In what moral’s name or right,
Square that conscience every night?
On what grounds you dare to stand?
What’s the matter, good old friend?

And what reasons & what thought,
Could be standing for what you’ve just fought?
What the hell? What’s your plan?
Dare you scraping data, the more you scan!

When more people won’t take your bait
And your company’s burning fate:
Did we really took people’s rights away?
Did we not see our destiny one day?
